Drainage Inspection Chambers

Inspection chambers allow for inspection, cleaning and maintenance of a drainage system, and are placed where a change of direction or gradient occurs. These chambers are also referred to as manhole chambers, and consist of a base, a riser, and a cover and frame.

The base of the chamber connects underground piping and has a varying number of inlets depending on the application. Risers are used to build a chamber to ground level, where a cover and frame is used to restrict access to the system (and prevent a person from falling in).

These PPICs, polypropylene inspection chambers, have grown in popularity over traditional methods (such as brick built chambers) due to their ease of installation. You can adjust the depth of the plastic chambers with riser sections and cut to size with a regular saw tool.
