Clearwater Washdown & Silt Separators are designed for use in commercial washdown environments. They are the first line of defence, collecting the solids from the waste discharge and beginning the process of separating oil from it too. This then allows the remaining liquid to freely discharge into a foul sewer system and continue its journey to a local treatment facility.
The Environment Agency states that the discharge from pressure washers must not drain into surface water systems as potential contaminates must be kept away from the watercourse. This includes:
- Detergents
- Oil residues
- Brake dust
- Other waste from industrial settings
This means that, with the approval of the local sewerage undertaker, the washdown must happen in a designated area and must only drain into foul sewer.
This 19,000 litre Clearwater Washdown & Silt Separator unit is manufactured from Glass Reinforced Polyester, making it resilient to rot and corrosion and lightweight for ease of handling on site. It comes with fitted access shafts, inlets and outlets, all aiding a quick and simple installation on site. Designed to help in the process of ensuring that contaminants don’t pose an environmental risk to the surrounding areas, its typical installation locations include:
- Car wash
- Tool hire depots
- Truck cleansing
- Construction compound cleansing points.
Important Notice: the prime function of these separators is for the removal of silt.
