Klargester Washdown & Silt Separators are designed for use in commercial washdown facilities that discharge directly into a foul drain. When installed, the discharge water runs into the unit where any solid contaminates, and some oils, are then separated out, leaving the waste water to continue through the foul sewer system to a local treatment works.

These separators are necessary to ensure that contaminants don’t enter the surrounding environment and potentially pollute them. Typical installation locations include:

• Car wash
• Tool hire depots
• Truck cleansing
• Construction compound cleansing points.

Important Notice: the prime function of these separators is for the removal of silt.

In a commercial situation, the discharge from pressure washers must not drain into surface water systems as it carries many different potential pollutants, such as:

• Detergents
• Oil residues
• Brake dust

This means that, with the approval of the local sewerage undertaker, the washdown must only drain into foul sewer and must only occur in a designated area.

This 12,000 litre Klargester Washdown & Silt Separator is constructed from Glass Reinforced Polyester, making it resistant to rot and corrosion and lightweight relative to its size. It comes with fitted access shafts and inlets and outlets, all aiding a quick and simple installation on site.
