The WREKIN SX Grid 2020 is a biaxial geogrid designed to reinforce soils and similar materials. Made from polypropylene and tested to a tensile strength of 20kN/m2 in both Machine (MD) and Transverse (TD) directions, the SX Grid 2020 can solve pavement problems by providing omni-axial reinforcement to granular sub-bases, and by capping layers & railway ballasts in areas of weak or variable soils.

Product Features at a Glance:

  • Very low maintenance system.
  • 20kN/m2 tensile strength.
  • Biaxial design.
  • 40 x 40mm aperture size.
  • Resists stresses.
  • Reduces deformations.
  • Provides reinforcement, stabilisation, and separation of granular particles.

With an aperture opening size (the little squares that make up the grid) of 40mm by 40mm, the SX Geogrid allows compacted granular particles to partially penetrate and project through the apertures. This creates a strong and positive interlock that disperses the load and increases the shearing resistance within the soil, improving compaction and allowing the sub-base thickness to be decreased, ultimately reducing construction time and costs.

WREKIN Geogrids
WREKIN's range of geosynthetic geogrids are commonly used to reinforce earth retaining walls, subbases and subsoils below road structures. Under tension, soils will pull apart, and the geogrids excel in this area, allowing the force to be transferred to a larger area of soil.

Geogrid Key Applications:

  • Construction haul roads
  • Paved and unpaved roads
  • Railways and ports
  • Working platforms on weak sub-soils
  • Parking and paved areas
  • Multi-layer applications
  • Piling platforms
  • Reinforcement of soil walls and abutments
  • Soil slopes alongside roads and railways

Manufacturer's Notes:

  • All strength and load figures are based on test results from the manufacturer’s laboratory, measured in accordance with ISO 10319 at the temperature of 21±1°C and calculated as a lowest 95% confidence limit in accordance with ISO 2602.
  • Measured by comparing the results of tests in accordance with test methods GRI/GG2 and GRI/GGI.
  • Carbon Black content 0.5%.
  • Tensile figures shown are for both Machine (MD) and Transverse (TD) directions.
